====== Kornad Dvon Trimian ====== **Kornad Dvon Trimian** (1st [[ahldoraean_century|AC]] - 119) was a superhero warrior who lived all of his life in the [[Gantolia region]], which today would be mostly located in the northern [[Leykhane]]. He is one of the few powerful superhero warriors who never held any political or military post, and lived a relatively normal life. Well respected in his community, he quickly became known as the just defender of the land, but also for his modesty and low key personality. His ability was to slow the perception of time to such a degree that everyone else would appear to be completely frozen. He would then be able to perform normal activities at what felt to him as his normal speed; from the point of view of others that would be instantaneously fast. The problem was that Kornad Dvon had no special physical strength, which meant that his normal human body, moving at incredible speeds, would endure enormous stress. Therefore, as a young man Kornad had to work out more than others, and he also learned to carefully accelerate into slowed time and maneuver in a very smooth fashion, economizing on every move and stopping often. ===== Lydian ===== Kornad Dvon is remembered as the only superhero of his time who was able to stop [[Lydian]]. It is believed that if it were not for him, all life on Continent might have been completely wiped out by the middle of the 2nd century. By the time Gantolia, [[Yammoe]] and [[Tarnaria]] heard about Lydian, the [[Western Dantrian Civilization]] had already fallen. However, this sudden fall of a whole civilization actually created an information vacuum. The only thing everyone seemed to know was that there was a strong superhero warrior on the move, and no news seems like an indication that all was alright, not that there was no one left alive to send the message. Geographically, this was still very far away, and the region had its own compliment of superhero warriors who had little reason to think that they cannot defend their lands. Several scouts had returned to Gantolia with alarming news of hundreds of kilometers of scorched land, but the message was largely misunderstood, disbelieved or played down. Nevertheless, the Council of Gantolia had decided to expand the scout party, and sent out several hundred people to learn more. Scouts came back with a more detailed overview of the situation, which included armies of the undead, a mysterious and seemingly unreachable superhero warrior leading the armies, as well as a complete downfall of Dantria. Even this information was largely ignored by the public. The Council became a little bit more alarmed, and several superhero warriors were moved towards the borders. However, the full extent of the situation was still not understood, and Kornad Dvon declined to go, feeling he would not be able to help. This changed when several months later the borders of Gantolia and Tarnaria had been attacked by three consecutive armies of the undead in 117, in a battle known as [[The Last Stand]]. These had been armies which operated on their own and were no longer led by Lydian. Thus, it was possible to defeat the undead, but the price in casualties and property was high. The third attack was barely held off, with the undead almost breaking the defense perimeter and soaking through. It was clear that even with the help of all the superhero warriors of Gantolia, Tarnaria and Yammoe, the next two or three attacks would leave the whole eastern Continent completely defenseless. With more information on Lydian having been gathered, Kornad Dvon seemed to be the only person for the job, as the challenge was to actually get close to Lydian. It is at that time that Lydian had disappeared. As his powers began to reanimate the dead in a way that seemed to give them the mind of their own, he himself began to feel unable to control the undead. By this time the [[Death Bunch]] is believed to have perished, as it was not seen by anyone for a long time, and Lydian retreated. The scouts leading Kornad Dvon were able to locate Lydian by observing the undead, since all of the undead within Lydian's close proximity would exhibit a characteristic reddish glow. This also seemed to make them largely immune to physical injury and they would re-animate after having been struck down. They caught up with Lydian by April 118. Kornad Dvon was then able to use his ability to slow down the perception of time to safely move between the undead, approach Lydian and kill him. This still left hordes of the undead, but now the threat was finite. Without their master, undead seemed less organized and acted more on instinct, but were still a significant threat due to sheer numbers. It took several more years to completely destroy them. ===== Later months and death ===== In spite of the physically grueling mission, Kornad Dvon seemed to have fared well and returned back home in July of 118 in good physical shape. He was greeted as a hero, although festivities were limited due to ongoing battles with the remaining undead hordes. He died peacefully in his sleep in January of 119.
