====== Words Preservation Foundation ====== **Words Preservation Foundation** (abbreviated as WoPreF, WPF, or just "elitist pricks") is an institution that fights for [[better writing]]. It believes that [[bad writing]] visibly harms the world and that bad writers should have only limited credibility, after which their right to write should be removed. The idea behind WPF's philosophy is that the run of the human civilization is limited. Therefore, there is some amount of literature that humanity will end up producing, and that amount will be fixed. WPF then posits an **M number**, which is the amount of words that will be written by people throughout the course of the civilization. It then argues that contribution to M should be a privilege. And people should only have a limited amount of words they are able to commit to writing. Only if they prove that their writing is not an abomination will they receive more word rations. Staying true to its philosophy, WPF is not writing down their detailed philosophy, in order to economize on the written word. They call their collection of ideas [["A Counsel of Living Peacefully"]], and distribute the teachings in oral form. ===== Litigation ===== Obscurity Portal was sued several times by the WPF. The cases were settled out of court. According to rumors, as part of the settlement Louigi agreed not to write a number of novels, namely [["The Tomato City"]], [["Forgive My Insistence, But I Will Joke"]] and a textbook on the highland midge. The latter provoked public outcry, as the book idea sounded useful, but public opinion shifted to warm approval when the title of the textbook was revealed to be "Just Try To Ignore The Bites".
