**Experimental Timelines** are timelines created by [[OTTs]] in order to advance scientific and technological research.

Unlike the more usual [[atls|Alternate Timelines]] (ATLs), XTLs are not available to [[NOTTs]] and the information about what's going on in them is scarce and is believed to be mostly unavailable even to people in the [[otl|Original Timeline]].
