Tonaran is an ancient city, currently part of Mantareia, which was an important city state during the second revolution, widely known as an impenetrable fortress due to the formation of its of walls, which defended the gates, as well as a well trained army that attracted people from all over Heran. Tonaran's architecture prinicples became widespread through Heran by the end of the second revolution.

Tonaran's reputation prevented many warlords from attempting to march on the city, but it was finally defeated in 1513 by Kren Oordar who thought he was attacking Kamey-Yr. The attack was completely unexpected by the Tonoranians and the city fell after two days of fighting.

Tonaran then became the seat of the Oordar clan.
