Infinite games

In finite games reaching the goal of the game normally means finishing the game. Infinite games are a class of games where the goal is to continue playing: you can lose, but you cannot win. An example of a popular infinite game is tetris.

Not all infinite games need to be challenging. Sometimes infinite games are created as means for meditation and thought, as background for an in-depth conversation, or as a relaxation technique. Designing an infinite game can be an entertaining and relaxing activity in itself.

The idea of infinite games as a class was proposed by Louigi Verona, based on his game of Yontel.
