Karmanta Spot was a point of destination for over 1500 immigrants to the Infinite Canteen dimension, which stayed constant for a period of 15 years due to a malfunction of a Normal Portal slot, from 1967 to 1982. The spot soon became deadly, as all the Food Drops in the radius of hundreds of miles had been depleted, leaving immigrants to starve to death.

It was also the original location of Karmanta, a religious colony founded by Dol Portman, and arguably constituting the most significant part of human history in the Infinite Canteen.

Unlike most of the Infinite Canteen, Karmanta Spot had been reported as a wasteland, consisting of mountains of disposed packaging, surreal monuments of piled up canteen furniture and clear signs of previous human activity. Several decomposed human bodies are located relatively near to the Spot. Some immigrants described Karmanta Spot as an incredibly sad ghost town.
