Obscurity Level is a rank reflecting one's knowledge of things obscure. The minimum level is 0, assigned to anyone who knows nothing about Obscurity Portal.
Obscurity Levels are usually designated as OLx, where x is the level number. If you are new to the Obscurity Portal, you are OL0.
Levels are incremented, meaning there is no fixed set of facts you need to know in order to attain OL1. Instead, you have to contact the Title Granting Committee with an answer to a puzzle if the puzzle mentions that solving it will increment your level.
Anyone over OL0 attains an automatic title of the Scholar of Obscurity and becomes a member of the University of Obscurity.
If you have OL0, OL1 can be received by simply contacting Title Granting Committee and asking for a level.
Obscurity Title is an honorary designation, usually awarded for special dedication to the obscure. Achievements are differentiated from knowledge in that you have to do something beyond just reading the Obscurity Portal. For example, playing a specific level of Bolmes will get you the title of a Private Detective.
Some titles are standard and can in theory be achieved by anyone, whereas some are personalized. Contributing to the Portal is especially likely to award you a personalized title.
