Whatever is an honorary title of the Obscurity Portal. It is added as a middle name (or the last of the middle names if a person has several). For instance, John Whatever Smith.

One becomes eligible for the title after completing one of the following actions:

• Discovering a rule that defines whether a topic discussed on the Obscurity Portal is a “normal thing” or “strange thing”
• Inventing an original game
• Posing as a character on the Portal
• Writing an obscure book and submitting it to be added as a page on the Obscurity Portal
