Experimental Timelines are timelines created by OTTs in order to advance scientific and technological research.

Unlike the more usual Alternate Timelines (ATLs), XTLs are not available to NOTTs and the information about what's going on in them is scarce and is believed to be mostly unavailable even to people in the Original Timeline.
